Investment Thesis

    Pursue solid, mature businesses in various industries that satisfy our Investment Criteria.

    Utilize proven operators/management/leaders and partner with them to identify target business investments, finance the acquisition and place or partner with the operator in the business.

    Management must be a known and proven commodity of high moral and ethical character, be capable at what they do and have capital at risk in the venture.

Strategic Approach

    Consider opportunities from our combined vast network of business and professional relationships to find businesses that fit our Investment Criteria.

    Locate proven business operators/managers/leaders and challenge them to find a business that suits them (via their capability) and sponsor them financially. This supports the Uniprop model of partnering with individuals that have excellent character, are capable at what they do and have their own capital at risk.

Businesses and Industries to Avoid

    Start-ups, Software, Restaurants, International businesses, Airlines, Supermarkets, Retail stores, Companies that factor receivables, Very low-margin businesses, Businesses at the top of their cycle.

Stay Actively Involved

    The principals will leverage their experiences as investors and operating executives to assist portfolio companies in achieving their business goals. The principals will secure Board seats or Board observation rights on all investments made by Wingspan and will take an active role in the planning process of each portfolio company. In addition, the principals will seek to enhance the portfolio companies’ competitiveness by assisting in preparations for future rounds of private or public financing, recruiting management, refining business strategy, assisting with general business operations, securing strategic alliances, making introductions to investment banks and other potential sources of capital and identifying exit strategies.
